That’s right, I’m starting a blog! Again!
But Hannah, you might ask…why would anyone want to start a blog in 2025? Blogging has kind of come and gone, right?
Well, that may be true. But for me personally, now feels like the right time to bring a blog back to my website, and I want to explain just why that is.
The Social Media Minefield
Social media is a minefield for a number of reasons, from the ethically questionable billionaire owners to AI scraping to general algorithm headaches. Every time I think I’ve found a home online, I read something else that chafes against my personal values a little too strongly to be ignored.
Where I’ll Be Hanging Out Instead
You may still see me on Instagram promoting my email list or sharing updates because I really can’t find another way to reach so many people so quickly, but my main efforts for the foreseeable future will be put into this website, this blog, and the emails that I send directly to you.
Speaking of emails, if you’re not already on the list, you can sign up here!
As a bonus, you’ll get a free weekly calendar printable that I designed just for fun:

It’ll be linked in the confirmation email once you’ve signed up, and you can download it and print it as many times as your little heart desires. Just please don’t send it to anyone else if they’re not on the email list – although do feel free to share the link where they can sign up as well!
An English Major at Heart
I may seem a little rusty at first because I’ve mostly been momming these past 9 years, but my heart originally belonged to writing. I even had a few short stories published back in the day! So really, starting a blog feels a bit like going back to basics for me, even if it’s not the current marketing trend. I’m much better at communicating in a slightly longer form as opposed to snappy little captions meant to play tug of war against the next goofy video in your feed. I’m never going to win against a goofy video, and that’s totally fine!
Bottom Line
It feels like a practical decision to launch a blog right now. I’ll never be a tech giant, and I’m not extroverted enough to play the games that tech giants create. So if you’re like me and you like hanging out in a more relaxed setting, stick around here! I haven’t quite decided on a posting schedule yet, but I’m hoping to hit an every-two-weekly pace. Keeping in mind, of course, that my kids are almost done with school for the summer so our schedules are about to go topsy turvy.
I don’t know if anyone uses RSS feeds anymore, but I’ll keep that function alive if I figure out how! The best way to stay in touch, though, will be subscribing to News from the Nest. There’s a weekly calendar printable in it for you now, and an even more exciting freebie coming very soon…..
Stay tuned!
-Hannah
